Guangzhou Women and Children's Medical Center

       Guangzhou Women and Children's Medical Center, National Children's Regional Medical Center (Central South), referred to as "Guangzhou Women and Children's Medical Center" and "Guangzhou Women and Children's Center", is a Class A tertiary hospital in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, mainland China. It is the largest public women and children's specialty hospital in South China that integrates prevention, medical treatment, health care, scientific research and teaching.

Historical evolution
       Guangzhou Children's Hospital and Guangzhou Maternal and Child Health Hospital were merged into Guangzhou Seventh People's Hospital during the Cultural Revolution. In March 1973, the authorities abolished the Seventh Hospital and restored the establishment of Children's Hospital and Maternal and Child Health Hospital.

In September 2006, Guangzhou Children's Hospital, Guangzhou Maternal and Child Health Hospital (Guangzhou Maternal and Infant Hospital) and Guangzhou Population and Family Planning Technical Service Guidance Institute were integrated into Guangzhou Women and Children's Medical Center, and the original names of the constituent hospitals continued to be retained.

        In November 2014, the hospital became a non-directly affiliated hospital of Sun Yat-sen University.

On October 8, 2015, the three campuses of the hospital fully implemented the "full appointment for non-emergency registration" system, making it the first hospital in Guangdong Province to completely cancel the non-emergency manual registration window.

        In 2020, the National Health Commission decided to set up a national children's regional medical center in the central and southern regions with the Guangzhou Women and Children's Medical Center as the main body.
