Xiamen Tianma Display Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Tianma Display Technology") held a product lighting ceremony for the sixth-generation flexible AMOLED production line project.
It is reported that the sixth-generation flexible AMOLED production line project of Tianma Display Technology was jointly invested and constructed by Xiamen Tianma, Guomao Holdings Group, Jinyuan Group, Xiangyu Group, and Torch Group. The total investment of the project is 48 billion yuan, with a designed production capacity of 48K flexible display substrates per month. It covers an area of 1,216 acres and a total construction area of about 1.26 million square meters, of which the process clean area is about 600,000 square meters. It is currently the largest flexible AMOLED single factory in China and the largest single high-tech manufacturing project in Xiamen's history.
Tianma Display Technology's 6th generation flexible AMOLED production line project was fully started in May 2020. The main factory building was topped out in 12 months, the core equipment was moved in in 16 months, the project construction was fully topped out in 18 months, and it was lit up in 21 months. Production capacity will be released starting in 2022.
Tianma really entered the flexible AMOLED market in 2018. Prior to this, Tianma invested in and built an OLED pilot production line in Shanghai. After years of research and development and construction, it has accumulated a lot of technology, processes, talents, and customers. In 2018, Tianma invested an additional 14.5 billion yuan to upgrade the Wuhan hard-screen OLED production line to a 6th-generation flexible AMOLED production line (TM17), successfully seizing the commanding heights of flexible display. Now this production line has achieved mass production. At the beginning of 2020, Tianma made another effort and invested 48 billion yuan to build this 6th-generation AMOLED panel production line in Xiamen, which was officially lit today.
Including Xiamen Tianma Display Technology, Tianma currently has a total of 3 AMOLED production lines. At present, Tianma Shanghai TM15 mainly produces smart wearable products such as watches and bracelets. At present, this production line also undertakes the company's AMOLED new products and new technology testing and research and development functions; Tianma Wuhan TM17 is currently mainly smart phone products. The production line of Xiamen Tianma Display Technology (TM18) is planned to be flexible screen production capacity, mainly smart phone products.
In terms of shipments, in the first half of 2021, Tianma AMOLED products as a whole achieved shipments of 10 million pieces, among which AMOLED smart wearable shipments increased significantly, and sales revenue increased by more than seven times year-on-year. Tianma has become the main supplier of major brands in the wearable market. Tianma expects that it will continue to show a trend of sustained growth in the future; in terms of flexible screen mobile phones, Tianma's performance is also good. Its mass-produced projects and projects under development have achieved full coverage of domestic brand customers, and new project orders are still being introduced.
